Will fashion editorial work on myspace.com?

Days ago, I received an alert from http://www.myspace.com/
alerting me that “myspace” now has a news section. After viewing a few fashion entries on http://news.myspace.com/ under the “style” section, I came away with the impression that the website has much potential. I used Vogue, WWD, Lucky, InStyle and O, The Oprah Magazine as my measuring tape, not forgetting http://www.style.com/.

In my opinion, the myspace.com fashion entries will stand alongside the existing fashion cornerstones, if they stepped up their game a notch or two over time. However, Iron Fist Clothing is one of the many examples of a fashion line that make editorial work for them c/o http://www.myspace.com/ It’s a wrap, Veronica Viljoen/Fashion Critic.

According to Paco De Jaimes, Chairman/CEO, World Fashion Week-World Fashion Awards his answer to my question is "No".

Paco further states that, "Myspace.com is one of the first and most strongest online communities in the world. It may be good to promote music, personal artistic work or just to meet people. It’s a mix of many things, rather than focusing in the professional aspects of fashion, as an artistic expression. It should be a Fashion dedicated network, where only fashion related artists are connected, without losing the attention surrounding many different areas that have nothing to do with professional fashion design. It should be directly involved with designers, models, make-up artists, stylists, editors, producers, writers, fashion weeks, associations, councils, cultures and education, etc.

Fashion reaches everybody, as everybody needs to wear something, however, it should be a global network that is mainly for people who have a particular interest in fashion and a passion for it".
