Fashion Group International of Los Angeles (FGILA) kicked off Downtown LA Fashion Week with a cocktail reception bringing together LA fashion designers with their muses on the rooftop of The Standard Hotel, Monday October 12th.
Q & A: John Arguelles, Regional Director, FGILA & President, Lloyd Klein
Q: "As you reflect on the fashion industry today, who do you see as the most memorable match of designer and muse in fashion over the years?"
A: "The greatest designer and muse collaboration of all time and perhaps the one that is the most recognizable in our culture is between Audrey Hepburn and Hubert deGivency. For example, when the designer has a specific model in mind when creating a collection, he or she is able to add nuance and direction to the piece that is created by asking when, where and how would my muse wear this garment. Furthermore, the designer also considers the motivation and lifestyle of his muse which is all part of a magical, creative process between the designer and the muse".
